FarmWatch Pro is designed so that alerts reach you even if the control panel itself experiences connectivity or power issues.
“`svg “`Loss of connectivity to the cloud
If the FarmWatch Pro control panel cannot connect to the Fetura CLOUD for more than 15 minutes, the system automatically triggers an alarm—in accordance with the configured notification method (SMS/phone call). Since this alarm is detected and sent from the cloud—rather than from the control unit itself—it reaches you even if the on-site device has lost its internet connection.
Two connection options—SIM or Ethernet
Every current version of FarmWatch Pro supports both a SIM card and an Ethernet port. Switching between them is done using a physical switch on the device—the control unit operates on only one of these connections at a time, not both simultaneously.
SIM Card
You can insert your own SIM card with an active internet plan, or use the SIM card provided by Fetura CLOUD (Telnyx). The Fetura CLOUD SIM card is a convenient “ready-to-use” solution, but Fetura CLOUD does not guarantee the quality or stability of this connection (no SLA).
Ethernet
The control panel uses your farm’s network—whether wired or wireless. If that network goes down, the control panel will lose connectivity (see the section above regarding the 15-minute alarm).
If your internet connection (farm WiFi/LAN) goes down and the control panel is in SIM mode, this will not affect it—it will continue to connect via the cellular network. If the control panel is in Ethernet mode and the farm’s internet connection goes down, the 15-minute connection loss alarm mechanism described above will be triggered.
Power Outage
The control panel has a built-in backup battery that allows it to continue operating for a short time after a power outage—approximately 2 hours. You can optionally connect a 12VDC siren to the control panel and choose which alarms should trigger it.
Summary
| Situation | What’s going on? |
|---|---|
| Loss of connectivity to the cloud for >15 min | The system automatically sends an alert (SMS/phone call)—it works even when the control panel is offline |
| No internet connection at the farm; the control unit is in SIM mode | No impact—the switchboard connects via the cellular network |
| No internet connection at the farm; the control center is in Ethernet mode | Treated as a loss of communication—alarm after 15 minutes |
| Mains Power Outage | The control panel continues to operate on the backup battery (approx. 2 hours); optional 12 VDC siren |
Alarm notifications are sent from the cloud—you’ll receive them even if the control panel itself loses power or an internet connection.
If this does not resolve the issue—escalate it
If, despite having the correct configuration, you are not receiving notifications about a loss of connection or power outage, please contact Fetura technical support.
